Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Residential HVAC Service Technician to join our team at C&S Air Inc. The ideal candidate will have experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential settings (commercial units a plus). This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, inspecting, and replacing HVAC system components. Troubleshoot and repair issues related to HVAC systems, including electrical, mechanical, and control system failures.
- Diagnostic Services: Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify system malfunctions, interpret blueprints and technical diagrams, and apply solutions to ensure systems operate efficiently and effectively.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to understand their HVAC needs, provide accurate service estimates, explain repair options, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of services performed, including diagnostic findings, repairs, parts used, and time spent on each job. Use our service software to clock in/out as well documenting work orders, uploading pictures, creating quotes and invoices.
- Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including those related to OSHA and EPA standards. Ensure all work complies with local building codes and HVAC industry standards.
- Emergency Services: Respond to emergency service calls as needed, including after-hours or on-call situations, to address urgent HVAC issues and restore system functionality.
- Inventory Management: Manage and track inventory of tools, equipment, and parts used in the field. Order and restock supplies as necessary to maintain efficient operations.
- Training and Development: Stay current with industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Experience with a variety of HVAC systems and components is preferred. Commercial experience is also desired as this position will be part of the on call rotation which will service commercial units as needed.
- Certification: Valid HVAC Technician license or certification as required by state and local regulations. Additional certifications such as EPA Section 608 Refrigerant Certification or NATE Certification are a plus.
- Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills. Proficiency with HVAC diagnostic tools and equipment. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and handle physical demands of the job. Must be able to climb ladders, crawl into tight spaces, and work at various heights.
- Driving License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: Experience with advanced HVAC systems (Installation, maintenance & repairs)
- Certifications: EPA, TDLR
